Coldstream undertook a one-off soil and groundwater contamination investigation before a depot redevelopment. The scope comprised a desktop review, soil sampling, installation of four temporary wells, one groundwater sampling event, accredited laboratory analysis and a conceptual site model. No surface-water sampling or recurring monitoring was commissioned. Recommendations included future monitoring if the proposed use changed, but that work was neither awarded nor delivered under this contract.
The assessment mapped uncertainty around a historical fuel storage area and recommended targeted follow-up. It did not establish that remediation had occurred. The work demonstrates chain of custody, groundwater sampling and interpretation skills. It does not demonstrate management of monthly or quarterly rounds over a service year. A draft sales index classifies it as “groundwater”, so the fuller scope must be read before making a Schedule B nomination. The fee and completion date satisfy those two tests independently; the recurring-monitoring relevance test is separate.
